Key

Monster Name (Character level the monster was first seen at)

  • Short description of the encounter.

Goblin (level 1)

  • Relatively easy enemy

Hobgoblin (level 1)

  • Harder to beat than a goblin, but not terrible

Ogre (level 1)

  • Tough opponent, took a lot of energy to beat the first day. We didn’t have a good strategy tough, future battles will probably be better

Kruthik: Scorpion Thingies (level 1)

  • Tough battle when 4 on 4, The ranged attacks were tough to defend against, and did cause poison when they hit. The melee attacks were easier to defend against, but the creatures were quick and would often retreat in order to use their ranged attacks.

Rage Drake (level 1)

  • Enimies are a bit easier to handle now that Rylene has joined our group. Once we flanked the beast, it was quick to go down. The attacks were strong though.

Ochre Jelly (level 1)

  • Tough opponent. Once we felt we were close to defeating it, it would split into multiple targets. The split hurt our attack strategy and made flanking more difficult. it also gave the enemy more chances to attack.

Specter (level 1)

  • Easy enemy. Not sure of it’s full attack power. Both went down pretty quickly

Magma Claw (Level 2)

  • Melee attacks are manageable, but powerful. Ranged attacks caused recurring fire damage.

Gnome (Level 2)

  • Pretty easy enemy when you can see them. They have the ability to turn invisible.

Endercap (Level 2)

  • Tough enemies. They can create webs throughout the encounter area which make it difficult to maneuver. They were also difficult to hit. The web-spinner variety was a little easier to hit, and was the main cause of the difficulties in the battle.
  • Both varieties were able to easily immobilize us and even poisoned us at points.

Guard Drake (Level 2)

  • Smaller than the rage drakes, and an easier enemy. We mostly had difficulty with him because we were stuck in a hallway and couldn’t get enough attackers around him. His bite caused a lot of damage though. It felt like he caused us more damage than the 2 rage drakes put together.

Dire Rat (Level 2)

  • Fairly easy enemy. Must be careful of their bites though as they carry diseases. Goolag and Mirtala caught it, and we weren’t able to treat it properly until we took an extended rest.

Spitting Drake (Level 2)

  • Spit acid. The seem to prefer ranged attacks as they move away when encountered via melee. The acid damage was not recurring.

Goblin Hexer (Level 2)

  • Able to cast a 3 square cloud that increases his defenses. He’s able to move the cloud as he likes (probably a minor action).

Boneshard Skeleton (Level 2)

  • Able to embed it’s bones and cause recurring necrosis damage Difficult enemy

Deathlock Wight (Level 2)

  • Able to summon undead Decrepit Skeletons. Seems to cause an area effect that lasts the entire encounter which continues to raise 1 fallen Decrepit Skeleton each round

Decrepit Skeletons (Level 2)

  • Enemy was pretty easy. Some attacks missed, but every hit seemed to kill them

Evistro (Carnage Demon) (Level 2)

  • Evistro never ended up hitting us. The encounter with him was pretty much one sided, but it did take a while for him to go down. Initially he was able to resist 10 damage done to him.

Wererat (Level 2)

  • Ability to regenerate. Their bite can poison as well as disease the target.

Zombie (Level 2)

  • Relatively easy enemy to defeat

Ghoul (Level 2)

  • High AC and Reflex made them hard to hit. but once we hit them they went down quick.

Sinruth (Hobgoblin Cheftain) (Level 2)

  • Very difficult enemy. He was able to hit twice per turn with his whip/spiked armor attack, and pulling us around with his whip was very dangerous as well.

Gnome Arcanist (Level 2)

  • He liked to run and make ranged attacks. His clock of darkness magic made him difficult to hit, but he didn’t seem very strong.

Needlefang Drake (Level 3)

  • Swarm enemy. Hitting the swarm as individual creature attacks weren’t as effective as area attacks. They would try to grab our legs to knock us prone.
